Translate Simple Privacy Policy — ziyouma

Overview

This policy applies to the Translate Simple (简单翻译) browser extension.

Translate Simple translates webpage text using the translation engine the user selects. Configuration is stored locally. The developer does not operate a user account system for this extension, and does not include analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking SDKs.

Data We Process

Translate Simple may process:

  • Webpage text the user chooses to translate.
  • User preferences such as target language, layout mode, always-translate sites, and engine settings.
  • API keys and base URLs the user optionally provides for SiliconFlow or Zhipu AI.

How Data Is Stored

Preferences, always-translate site lists, and any user-provided API credentials are stored locally via Chrome extension storage APIs. The developer cannot read this storage.

How Data Is Transmitted

Text is sent only to the translation engine the user selected for a requested translation:

  • Google Translate, when that engine is selected.
  • SiliconFlow or Zhipu AI, when the user configures those providers and selects them.

No developer-operated server receives page content or API keys for this extension.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. Third parties receive data only as needed to perform a user-requested translation with the chosen engine.

Data Retention and User Control

Users can clear extension storage, remove API keys, or uninstall the extension. Local data remains until cleared or the extension is removed.

Children’s Privacy

Translate Simple is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will revise the “updated” date above when we do.
